FUT & FUE Hair Transplant Scarring Covered with SMP
Unfortunately no matter what type of hair transplant you get, scarring is inevitable. Some scars are more noticeable than others depending on what type of transplant they had and what hairstyle they have afterwards. There are two different types of hair transplant, that cause different scarring.
- FUT (follicular unit transplantation) -This is where thin strip of skin with hair is removed from the back of your head and divided into pieces, each containing 1 to 4 hairs (hair grafts) which are then placed into tiny cuts made in the scalp. The site where the hairs are taken is closed with stitches causing you to have a scar on the back of your head.
- FUE (follicular unit extraction) -The procedure for this is that the back of the head is shaved and individual hairs are removed 1 by 1 (grafts). The grafts are placed into tiny cuts made in the scalp, creating lots of tiny scars.
By using scalp micropigmentation we can replicate hair follicles and deposit them in and around the scar to blend them with the existing hair. By doing this we reduce the visibility of the scar drastically making it unnoticeable to those who are unaware it was there in the first place.
