This method removes a thin strip of skin with hair from the back of the head. The strip is then divided into small grafts with one to four hairs each. These grafts are implanted into tiny cuts in the scalp. Afterward, the donor area is stitched closed, leaving a linear scar across the back of the head.
This approach requires shaving the back of the head before extracting individual hair grafts one at a time. It avoids a long scar. However, it creates many small circular scars where each follicle was removed.
